A Rainy Day

Description: An article I wrote for my mass media and society class. The assignment intended for us to write about readings or expieriences we encountered outside of class during the week.

Date: May 2018

Todays a really rainy day. It’s gray, cold, and I’m tired.

To be completely honest all I want to do is curl up with my favorite TV show and relax.

When I cam home I found me roommates doing the same things I wanted to be doing. It occured to me this feeling isn’t uncommon on a rainy day.

So what about rainy days makes us want to curl up with a movie and a book?

My theory is that when we the world moves a little slowly and a little colder our brains move a little more slowly and our bodies get colder.

We look for things that will allow us to lay down and relax and movies, TV, and books achieve those purposes.

Maybe it’s not everyone who feels this way, but everyone I’ve talked to today agrees this is “a weird day” and most people dressed much more comfortably.

People are tired, quiet, and subdued and movies and TV shows can be found on nearly every TV.

I’m most definitely not complaining, I quite enjoy my time to relax and we all need those days, but isn’t it interesting that on rainy days we are more attracted to forms of entertainment?
